  2. Move

March 17, 2015 by The Girl Made of Words

I think, if I had just gone from my own understanding of God, the same understanding that has been fed and nurtured inside of me all my life, I probably wouldn’t have been able to make such rapid leaps in my growth. I guess it’s like working out, when you do the same routine for so long, your body stops responding to it in such a dynamic way. I remember when I first publicly committed my life to Christ, I was overcome with emotion. It was so big and full, but like a drug, I could never quite hit that first initial wave of joy in quite the same way after that. I was lost in this ‘endless chasing’ of a memory I once had, of a fullness I once felt, but could never seem to duplicate no matter how hard I tried. I don’t think this is the case for all Christians, but I feel like, maybe I needed to veer off the path I was on so I could find my own way.
